Letter to God (Part One)

Dear Sir or Madam: This shouldn’t take long, but I have so much to be thankful for, that I will spread it out over today and tomorrow (Thanksgiving).

Thank you first and foremost, for your love and blessings. Thank you for allowing me to continue this journey you gave me to complete. Thank you for my family. Thank you for the umpteenth time for blessing me with Karen in this sphere of existence. Thanks for animals of all kinds. Thanks for the beautiful flowers and fragrances you have provided us. Thank you for the absolutely outrageous sunrises and sunsets as you wake us up and put us to bed every day and night. Thank you for the bountiful oceans that continue to keep us alive. Thank you for providing us the mental capacity as a species, to think and learn. Thank you for common sense (which you apparently did not have enough for us all), and the people who use that sense to help others learn to always do the right thing. Thank you for educators, who teach the leaders and citizens of tomorrow. Their impact individually to the child and globally, the impact of raising the education level of Planet Earth are too awesome to fathom. Thank you for the doctors and other medical professionals as they continue to save our planet from extinction. Thank you for the people who continue to protect and serve us: the military, the police, and yes, even the politicians.

Thanks for saving us from dying when able, and when not, thank you for providing a better place to go. Thank you for the many opportunities you have provided me. Thank you for giving us all hope as we see our mortality predicated on the elimination of the smallest of enemies. Thank you for mayonnaise, hot dogs, hamburgers, steaks, vegetables, beer, whiskey, scotch, tequila, egg nog, wine, Very Cherry Fruit Cocktail, mashed potatoes, Martin acoustic guitars, Fender electric guitars, music of all kinds, prosthetic limbs, wheelchairs, SOME medicines, females, Chicken Fried Steak and Country Gravy, filet mignon, chicken, and people of all colors. To be continued…
