He saved Gunner, his little puppy from the jaws of certain death from a hungry little (and apparently lightning-fast) alligator. Thank you for the birds of all colors you gave us, and the adorable kitty cats who would love to consume them. Thank you for all sports (even curling). Thanks for the different colors in a rainbow and the world. Thank you for creating seemingly magical abilities in some people to use color to create masterpieces. Thank you for ALL the arts, allowing us to illustrate just how far we have come and yes, how far we still have left to go. Thank you for making the sky blue. It would really freak me out if it was a different color.
Thank you for spices and herbs to flavor our food. No so big on the preservatives and chemicals you provided us to poison our food with, but this letter is for THANKSgiving. Thank you for the second, third, etc… chances you have provided ALL of us to be better people. Thank you for allowing me to see the last Notre Dame football National Championship. Now if you want to score REAL big points with me this year…Thank you for oriental food. All day long. Ditto for shellfish, fresh strawberries, wide-screen TVs, movies old cartoons, bicycles, cars, trucks, airplanes, money, Yoplait yogurt (which Karen won’t let me have—too much sugar), The Godfather movies, The Wizard of Oz, biodegradable fast food containers, trees, plants, shrubs, bread sticks (which Karen can’t find at the store because she doesn’t know where to look), and doughnuts (see: Yoplait yogurt). Thank you for Italian food, French food, warm weather, marijuana, sourdough bread, my big brother Ed’s seafood gumbo, fresh-squeezed orange juice, plums, bleu cheese dressing, those little wafer-thin after-dinner chocolate mints, sorbet between courses, hash browns extra crispy, eggs over easy, and last, but not least, thank you for pretty much everything.
