Did you know that we are apes?
We are classified as hominids, which are Great Apes. So basically, while everyone is searching for the origin of man, look no further than Southeast Asia and Africa for where-we-all-began.
But what of the origin of life itself?
Check out Milton Geiger’s I Will Not Go Back. I remember this awesome poem from my childhood and being so moved when I watched the inimitable Edward G. Robinson recite the masterpiece on television.
Out of the mists of time
Out of the ooze and slime
Out of the dreadful morning
Out of the speechless
Dawning of the Earth
And I will not go back!
The entire reading is way long, but a true revelation.
If apes are us, why do we denigrate them when we say if we really, really like something, we go ape for it?
And what about the Planet of the Apes movie franchise?
Charlton Heston first, and all the way up to Marky Mark Wahlberg, the story remains the same.
Man destroys its natural habitat, leaving a new resurgence of life with apes as the superior species.
Why the hell not?
They can’t do a worse job than man has done.
Don’t believe me?
Just turn on any news channel for five minutes and you get the impression that apes would be a step up from what currently passes as a politician in this day and age.
The simians’ see-no-evil, hear-no-evil, speak-no-evil justice system has to be better than the placement of supporters on the Supreme Court by presidents of both parties that we presently “enjoy.”
Everything comes with a price. I was amazed when it was said there is bipartisan support for the bill, and I see I was correct in my skepticism.
If this is the price we must pay to remain “the greatest country on Earth” I want a refund.
As of this minute, the hopeful action by President Biden’s predictably stonewalled infrastructure bill is moot. I just hope he does not quit, like President Obama did in his term. He reached across the aisle ONCE and when he was predictably stonewalled, he remained beaten-down and ineffective.
Neither Joe Biden nor Donald Trump is half the orator that Barack Obama is.
Biden better learn to use the veto to get as much done as possible as he can in his ONE term, because I have a better chance of winning the next presidential election than he does.
I see that Whispering Joe has the sense to get another military action going (pay no attention to the man behind the curtain). In America, there is nothing like a war to try and get the people and the economy kickstarted.
I don’t think even that can secure a second term for the Democrats.
What happens is nothing will get done because the Republicans won’t allow it until they retake The Hill. That’s the reality as I see it.
Who suffers from the inaction and divisiveness?
The American People that’s who.
I am not ape over that.
