Because You Never Know

So the Petulant One, Elon Musk, demeans the government for fiscal irresponsibility by not charging the Ukrainians for the internet satellite system Starlink, a crucial component in helping the Ukrainians stave off the Russian advances. Just a short time later he comes back with another missive on social media saying, “Even so, we should still do good deeds.”

What’s this “we” you are talking about? Have you got a piece of cat shit in your pocket?

YOU had squat to do with any good deeds.

You are first to wrongly criticize and first to wrongly take credit for things not attributed to you.

An Ohio softball coach had sex with a student/player.

It happens.

What’s news here is that the student she had sex with was a male.

Here’s another big surprise. She asked him not to tell anybody.

So to the surprise of absolutely no one, the Taliban have reinstated their regime of oppression and cruelty in Afghanistan.

Who on this entire planet believed them when they promised a new, open, more inclusive regime?

Women, gays, and well, basically anyone not them, are at risk.

Forever.

What a prospect.

You could be in Rohingya (somewhere near Bangladesh?). The local chieftain and his deputy were removed from office not by an election, no.

Machetes.

Twenty machete-wielding dissidents evidently made their voices (and weapons) heard. They definitely don’t have to worry about any pesky elections or voter fraud, or any other democratic ideals.

Politics is literally life or death there.

Guy Fieri, the ebullient TV chef, was asked if he felt bad about serving such unhealthy (read delicious food), and for highlighting the same in the restaurants featured on his show Diners, Drive-ins, and Dives.

Get a life.

“I’m your chef, not your doctor.”

Love it.

If I were your doctor would I serve you:

Wild Mushroom Melangee in Puff Pastry w/ Golden Caviar Butter

Salmon Mousse w/Pineapple Beurre Blanc

Terrine of Lobster w/Lemon Caper Mignonette

Bay Scallops Ceviche

Veal Sweetbreads in Beurre Rouge w/Peruvian Purple Potatoes and Crème Fraiche

Black Forest Cake w/Crème Anglaise

Oh yeah, don’t forget your wallet.

I haven’t been back to Las Vegas since I left in ignominy in 1981.

I am sure it was a whole different world, just as it was forty years before I started plying my trade in food service in 1977.

For those of you just starting out in your working careers: It might not be considered the “cool” thing to do, but working harder than anyone in the office always served me well.

Don’t take advantage of the job market just because you can. It will not serve you with the qualities you will need to succeed at even higher levels, like leadership and vision.

The latter will lead you on the path to success, and that never goes out of style.

Pay proper respect to the importance of people skills in all levels of business.

Keep your head out of your phone, and carry on.

Stay well.
