I have no idea what it is, the water, the air, whatever, but I have become a songwriting machine as of late. I wrote my very first song, That’s When Hiawatha Made a Little Running Deer Outta Me. when I was twelve, but only our yet-to-be-born history buff will be able to tell you that.
One of the songs I have written in the past five weeks (five in total) is an awesome song and I wrote it with a speedy Ramones-like punk bass and chord line. Inspired by the Columbine Massacre, the recent rash of school shootings pushed me to the angry bass line to finish the song.
It is called Lunchtime Assassin.
Here are the lyrics:
Verse I
I buried you on Monday
Killed you on Wednesday
Took your sister out
To the prom on Sunday
I’m not the right shape
I’m not the right size
And I’ve got nothing but
Vengeance in my eyes tonight.
Verse II
Mass Hysteria
In the cafeteria
Mail-order murder
for pennies on the dollar
A two-week wait
A little sales tax
Death will be
Delivered to my door tonight
Chorus
I’m a Lunchtime Assassin
Payback is the only way
I’m a lunchtime Assassin
So welcome to your Last Day
Verse III
You laughed with all the others
At me and my brothers
Tec-9 casings on the classroom floor
Look at all the people
Look at all the tears
Look at all the faces
Covered with fear
Repeat chorus
end
My guitar player screwed up and posted a video of a couple songs from practice. I totally fucked up the 2nd-3rd verse of Don’t Hand Me No Lines, but recovered nicely on the Allman Brothers cover of One Way Out.
When we get a sound bite from our next practice, I will post it.

First practice.
I’ll write about another one of my songs tomorrow; this one will be a little less controversial.
Stay well.
