Just how far will you really go?
I admit to doing some absolutely bat-shit crazy dangerous things, but it was usually a confluence of factors including drugs and alcohol.
I won’t die by falling off a dangerous cliff.
Promise.
I would readily die defending my wife and family members. But how far down the family tree would I get worked up enough to put my life on the line to defend?
A really close cousin maybe.
I can’t see dying to defend a second cousin twice-removed (is there even such a silly-ass thing?), but in my self-destructive Las Vegas days, I would and did so for complete strangers.
How much is too much?
You would have to ask someone like Taylor Swift or Bill Gates.
In our capitalist society, there is no such thing as too much.
I think there can be too much of anything and it becomes detrimental at a point.
Too much food brings obesity, diabetes, amputations, and death.
Drinking provides more of the same.
Don’t even think about all the drugs.
How about too much of a good thing?
Can you love someone too much?
Of course, the answer is a definitive “NO.” There are no degrees of love. It is a zero-sum game. You are either in love or you are not.
When you think about crime, the general population want justice, but they want it meted out according to their personal political platform.
Three words for you.
Code of Hammurabi.
In a world of children confused about their own sexuality, led by parents confused about everything else, it is no wonder this country seems so convoluted.
Because it is.
College football players are looking at one proposal to “reimburse student-athletes for the commercial use of their name, image, or likeness.” The proposal I read was for each player to receive 30,000/year for four years.
I am an avid college football fan, but I was never in danger of making a pro OR college roster, so I understand the stratification amongst the players on the team. They know who the Alphas are.
But, on the other hand, these football players are receiving a four-year degree from a major university IN ADDITION to being paid over one hundred thousand dollars for a four-year commitment.
You know damn good and well that the high school kids will be next in line with their hands out. It’s more a matter of time than anything.
It’s the American Way.
A D.C. taco stand owner is having to pay four thousand dollars a week for security due to surging crime rates. What amazes me is NOT that he is paying so much, but that he is selling enough tacos to be able to shell out that kind of money as part of his overhead.
My wife, bless her soul, thinks every city should be a Sanctuary City.
I live in the real world.
I put up some Christmas lights today and will finish tomorrow.
Stay well.
