The Man Who Would Be King

One of my favorite movies of all-time and an apt descriptor for King James, aka Lebron James, professional basketball star. Lebron is approaching the all-time NBA scoring record held by the much-revered Kareem Abdul Jabbar.

Lebron is supposed to be here. He was anointed at age 16 and has pretty much lived up to the hype save one exception. It is the reason why there is a title ABOVE King.

GOAT.

I have always liked Lebron James because of the fact he has delivered. What differentiates the GOAT from the King?

Not scoring only.

Lebron has more total points but that is as much a testimony to his longevity and excellent shape and playing condition he has maintained than anything else.

Michael Jordan scored almost five points per game more than Lebron.

You can debate until the cows come home, but there is one arena, where the Gods dwell, where miracles are commonplace, and where champions attain everlasting glory.

The NBA Finals.

Lebron has been to 10 (so far) and Michael went to six.

Lebron has won four, and Michael won all six of his.

Different eras, different rules, different games.

It doesn’t matter. I believe these to be the two in discussion for GOAT and I believe they will always be remembered in that order.

Trump recently tried to get rid of that pesky little thing called democracy so he could rule autonomously, like his buddy BabyHead Putin. The nitwit who did become king.

In the movie starring Michael Caine and Sean Connery, two bunglers happen upon the opportunity to rule a kingdom due to deceit and lies.

The first instance of “pulling a Santos.”

Please stop publishing pictures of Marjorie Taylor Greene.

If she has a good side, one that does not depict her as an ignorant, foul-mouthed, insensitive, bloviating gasbag, well then  I would like to see it. But until then, please…

I don’t think I am as happy as I used to be when I wake up in the mornings. I think it is directly attributable to when they took my girl Robin Meade off the air. Her show used to make me smile. I never learned a whole lot from the deep content on the show, but I liked the show, the format, and most of all I liked the personalities on the show. Some I rooted for and with, and some not so much.

I mean what was Jen thinking wearing stripes?

When Robin let go a belly laugh, one from way downtown, I loved it. I suppose now that she is not on the air I should restart my requests to her to appear when I play a show.

Although I am 0-for-49 on my requests so far, you never know…

The weather is bright and sunny, but cold. I can’t wait until spring when the leaves return to the trees on the golf courses.

I still have a long way to go until I am ready to debut playing the electric guitar, but I am starting to learn slowly but surely.

Stay well.
