Natural Selection?

Why is it, when everything seems to be going great on planet Earth, that Mother Nature rises up, slaps us in the chops and reminds us that our pass in this sphere of existence is all too temporary?

The latest death toll spread over 8 different states, is 64. And that is just ONE tropical storm (Ida) in the books. More and more people will die. Why is it that no matter how many precautions we take, people lose their lives anyway?

I think it must be natural selection.

Yes, the dinosaur theory that nature selected them for extinction is in play with man. We can put all the computer sensors in the world in our cars, all the cameras, airbags (who you calling airbag?), and other technology aimed at protecting us from auto disasters, especially fatal encounters, and people will still die.

Is it all part of the Plan by the master puppeteer upstairs?

I hope not.

I hope it’s all not just a numbers game.

The first person I remember dying was Red, a friend of our family that evidently had cancer. I only knew him as this cool old dude who used to tell me stories on his porch. I remember crying when we received news of his death. But I guess I wasn’t sure why.

When the Pope died, my sister purposefully made me bawl my eyes out and I probably still didn’t know why.

I’m glad she got an ass-whipping for it.

As the anniversary of 9/11 approaches next week, it gives pause as to why those people? Why were they here one minute, living out their lives in peace, and then…. gone?

No matter how you examine it, no rhyme nor reason can explain it. Instead of an apocalyptic cataclysm, why not just a trickle at a time until eventually there will be more people dying than living?

Not a good coffee and coffee cake convo for another lovely 70 degree and sunny day in beautiful southern Ohio.

When you add in the virus and those uncounted dead to come, maybe we are already in the minus net area already and we don’t even see it coming.

I hope not.

How about we stop the unnecessary deaths, the preventable deaths?

That would be good, wouldn’t it?

We already have in place the legal framework for most evildoers and as for the rest, just kill them and seize their assets. Spay or neuter any possible children-producers in the entire family lineage.

For starters.

And enough with all this violence and hatred about having kids wear masks in schools. There are plenty enough empty schools sitting around, so let all the unvaccinated kids go to a school with like-minded students (read parents) and the others can attend with other vaccinated (read intelligent) students.

Problem solved.

I did it again.

I am one hour away from kickoff of the Saturday college football season, and I will be texting my big brother Ed when the action starts up.

Wish I was there.

Stay well.
