Just Let Go

Brilliance comes in many forms…

As a perk for General Managers, a four-day all-expenses resort stay on the Emerald Coast in Florida. One of the activities was deep-sea fishing.

Some deep-sea fisherman hooked a large fish, presumably an Ahi Tuna which can grow up to eight feet and 200 pounds.

When I told the Domestic Despot, she just looked at me incredulously and said, “why didn’t he just let go?”

He couldn’t, that’s why.

When you are out for the really big sportfish, it is serious stuff. There are straps, braces, cuffs, and to have even the slightest semblance of control, your rod must be secured to your hands.

He drowned, unable to free himself from being dragged under by the fish which could easily prevent him from reaching the surface of the water.

Ever again.

Jack couldn’t let go of the huge floating door because his hands were frozen to it.

‘I’ll never let go…”

Right after saying that, she pries his cold blue fingers from the enormous door and watches him sink into eternity…

The Republican Party can’t let go of anything.

What a cast of characters!

What we really need to let go of are the old ways of doing things.

Look around.

Everything is fucked up.

Unsafe.

Debt-riddled.

Doesn’t matter which president caused it; it is a debt owed by the USA.

The once mighty United States of America has devolved into yet another country divided.

We’ve always been divided.

But above all else, we have been Americans.

What happened?

This is where the old ways got us.

O mighty Caesar, dost thou lie so low?..

Usually, when a large faction of citizens feel strongly enough to risk an attempt to end democracy in a country, change of some sort is inevitable.

Look it up.

I would vote for a one-eyed transgender ape if I thought they could run this country more efficiently and FAIRLY.

All parties.

Guns, and the access to them, is shaving years off the life expectancy of many of our students.

If I had kids, I would be all over this. We don’t have kids, and it still pisses me off. I see no end in sight. As long as people have money, they can buy anything, even life (illegal transplant organs) and death (access to automatic rifles).

The American Way.

Gun-shooting and murdering-age is now six in Virginia. Parents claim that they had their gun “securely stored.”

Not buying it.

You look at it, and on the outside, it’s a beautiful, ordinary-looking house. Inside, a woman with a chainsaw is dismembering the bodies of her parents whom she shot in the head.

You never know.

To think that someone you know is walking around with murderous thoughts or intentions (his brain is squirmin’ like a toad…) in their heads. What really scares me are little kids with those same thoughts….

Sleep well.
