It was here just a minute ago.
My memory.
Despite my wife’s inaccurate recollections, I am just now starting to notice small signs that my once precise eidetic memory is slipping.
There are TWO THINGS that I always remember.
Always have and always will.
Who I owe money to and who owes me money.
100% recall.
As I approach seven decades on this planet, I figure realistically that I have about fifteen years’ worth of sand left in the hourglass.
That’s not very long when you stop and think about it.
When did our patriotic sense of nationalism get replaced by cynicism and fear?
Exactly when did our sense of self become a cloudy issue?
One step forward, two steps back…
Thanks to that gang of hooligans and sheep we call the Supreme Court, they have set women’s’ rights back to the days of the Prohibition.
You’ve come a long way, baby!
Where did our ability to negotiate and compromise disappear to?
I know for a fact, that it isn’t on Capitol Hill.
In my last fifteen years, I would like to see a few things happen:
- A woman President of the United States ( I would have voted for Liz Cheney for sure)
- A return to the French values of Republicanism which are the very basis of our government.
- The end of lifelong Supreme Court appointments. Eight years is enough to pillage the country before having to stand on your record to be reelected.
Boom!
I did it again.
Alabama cops threw a drunk in the drunk tank which ended up being a death sentence due to hypothermia and sepsis brought on by “infections caused by abuse and medical neglect.”
I have been in several drunk tanks in my misspent youth and not one of them could be considered comfortable by any measure.
But it’s another thing to betray the trust of the people you are sworn to protect and kill prisoners just because you can.
Another swimmer suffers grave injury after deciding to ignore the posted “Sharks Sighted” signs.
Take it from me.
Two legs are waaaay better.
I mean Jaws has only been around since 1975.
Why am I seeing so many stories about drunk drivers? I thought there were apps for that.
Not funny.
Totally preventable.
The unanimous Supreme Court decision to allow Trump access to all states’ ballots was the right move to make, but then Trump and his tiny pee-pee start talking shit and pushing for “presidential immunity.”
He is too egomaniacal to just move on to something constructive like a budget plan or maybe even a glimpse of his imaginary border solution.
If he manages to win a second presidency, we will deserve what we get.
Raise your hand if you believe that Trump will accept a second defeat with class and poise?
No takers?
Thought so.
Stay well.
