The doctor has me in the wait-and-see mode on my leg, and unless it improves, I still think an above-the-knee surgery is imminent.
So I’m riding it out.
But I will NOT ride it out if it becomes necessary to further cut my leg and they want me to stay longer post-surgery and give me Demerol and/or Oxycodone for the pain.
Mr. Toughguy already tried that with the removal of my lower leg and all that did was turn me into a mean dumbass all because of my macho Mexican “I can take it” attitude towards the pain and the non-necessity for the drugs. Not only did I refuse the pain management drugs, but I insisted they release me early from the hospital post-surgery.
Big mistake.
I just hobbled down several flights of stairs and five deadly escalators to place my ballot today. I hope you take advantage of one of the few freedoms we still have left in this country.
Regardless of who wins, all we can do is ride it out.
I just wish the candidates wouldn’t say crazy shit, because it makes me nervous, and worse, it opens the gate for others to follow suit and say and DO crazy shit because they think it is acceptable.
Grab a woman’s privates with no consequences?
Why not?
Trump did it.
Lie, cheat, steal, and ignore the law?
Why not?
Trump did it.
Let’s elect him president.
Sometimes I wonder about this country and some of its citizens.
It’s like seventy degrees and sunny here in the second week of October in southern Ohio and I’m only one good leg away from being out on the golf course.
I am putting together what look like my last two playlists for the two remaining nursing home gigs that are left on my schedule. Then, I am not booking anything further.
I hope they don’t end up my very last, but bare minimum, I have to be able to physically load up, set up, perform, and break down and go home all by my lonesome. When I am physically able to do that is the day I start seeking bookings again.
In the meantime, practice, practice, practice.
I would still like to see educators get the financial respect they deserve for teaching and molding our future leaders.
Here is my playlist for my nursing home gig next Wednesday up in Dayton:
If You’re Reading This Tim McGraw
The Walk Sawyer Brown
I’ve Been Everywhere Johnny Cash
You Look So Good in Love George Strait
Can’t Help Myself The Four Tops
Okie From Muskogee Merle Haggard
I’m going to go and sneak some things I like from the store and the Domestic Despot will not be pleased when I bring home a few packages of ramen noodles.
News flash: Don’t use the whole sodium-packed flavor packet.
I grew up eating Osoba and Yakisoba noodles almost every day of the week in Japan.
Nori, dried seaweed, on everything.
Even cookies and candy.
Bean curd in every flavor.
No wonder I’m so fucked up.
Stay well.
