How Bad? Puhleeze

How bad do you think you have it in this country?

Bad enough to climb on to the rudder of an oceangoing vessel to points unknown?

Two Nigerians did just that to escape the poverty and injustices in their homeland.

So shut the fuck up and appreciate what you have.

With the Domestic Despot staunchly attacking anything Trump related, I sincerely haven’t given a shit about politics ever since I accepted the fact that my vote doesn’t matter.

As a college freshman I campaigned for the ultimate idealist, George McGovern and after he lost to NIxon I was through.

My M.O. has always been head down, stiff upper! (corny)

Sad to see Bruce Lee pass. I remember in the early seventies he had badasses with such names as Colin and Trevor mewling like cats and circling their prey. Just like ten years later when Daniel-san discovered the “Crane” technique from Moriyama-sama.

Just curious.

Why didn’t anyone figure out that when he got into his signature stance, he would soon be following with the fake right kick and then following up with the power left kick?

I love it when countries, in the ultimate show of nationalism, proudly display their best weaponry with crowds cheering, people standing, and it forces the rest of the world to realize (again) how tenuous our existence is on this planet.

True Story.

You know how crazy that Kim Jong-un is, and he can’t be the only one.

I am in favor of equal pay and all that blah blah blah but I have to say, I haven’t been adversely affected by the writer’s strike at all. There are so many options for me to do in my daily life, this blog included, and the research for my in-process first novel.

Just remember while you are going through your day and then finishing your night to start it all over again, WOPR is playing a series of games, War Games plotting each and every move of the enemy; their moves, our responses.

Now, I am referring to the 1983 movie starring Mattrhew Broderick, but you have to think, in this day and age, that we are running computer simulations like this 24/7.

If we aren’t maybe we should start?

The perfect murder.

Oxymoron.

You can have no semblance of perfection in an imperfect act.

Although I have seen numerous revenge movies (in fact they overtook serial killer movies as my favorite genre), I really appreciate good writing and the inventiveness of delivering death.

Starting with the rently-departed Bruce Lee and Charles Bronson and his Death Wish franchise, revenge movies featuring women as the lead, may just have been started by my girl Pam Grier and her Foxy Brown character.

Pam Grier,

Ouch.

Or as my Uncle Mike might say “Two big ouches.”

And who knew skin care could be so sexy?

Check out Salt.

KIds using their phones ALL DAY LONG, even while in school, has them forcing schools to mandate the kids put their phones in pouches when they are in a classroom.

Sounds like a good move, if you ask me.

I don’t think it is too much to ask and such a move would theoretically result in students actually learning the information they are being taught, that their parents and taxpayers are providing.

Did that sound sarcastic?

I played an open mic tonight up in Dayton, and it was my second Wednesday in a row. I have been trying to promote a benefit concert featuring four live acts. There will be puppies to adopt and music from 7-11pm. But last week I was sitting back in my chair putting my guitar in the case when a woman from the audience walked up and she said “You have a great voice.”

When I looked up, I was taken aback, and I was looking into the eyes of one of the most beautiful women I have ever seen, and I’m old, so this is a large sample size.

Her eyes.

Minimal makeup could not dim the glint nor hide her sexual power.

I thanked her for the nice words and later I would join her and her husband at their table and she ended up buying one of my books which was cool.

I told him, “You have a beautiful wife.”

He said “Thanks.”

“I should know,” I said, I’ve been married to a beautiful women for 36 years!”

Cool people.

Stay well.
