Not just a classic fun adventure movie, but our national holiday commemorating all the things this country once did and believed in, oh yeah, and an extra day off from work.
I grew up part of my life on military bases, so patriotism was effortless exercise and especially when you are stationed overseas because there is a real us versus them mentality, especially in countries where we are not regarded as the greatest country on Earth.
Anymore, it seems we are the only ones that even think that, more less say it. Maybe its because it really wasn’t that long ago, when our nation felt safe, it felt powerful, and other nations and their peoples DID look up to us.
Now, we are just another strife-riddled country losing every war we engage in.
We lost the war on Prohibition.
We lost the war on drugs.
We lost the war BETWEEN the States.
We lost our innocence long, long ago.
We lost our sense of decorum, civility, class, whatever you want to call it… People are no longer afraid to “come out” as bigots. Fuckface Trump gave many idiots a false sense of legitimacy to their hatred and ignorance, and it is amazing to see the unabashed Nazi culture which is festering in our Petri dish of a country, just waiting to ripen.
