Sometimes I amaze even myself.
This country needs the biggest political enema in history, and it starts by grooming a new generation of leaders, preferably as yet unfettered with the sins of their predecessors..
I’m starting to get spoiled.
I can’t watch a video of a beautiful brown bear rushing from the shore, splashing in the cold water and chasing a kayaker without thinking come on, bear, kick it in gear!

In its simplest form, it started after World War Two ended and soldiers returned home.
A wife, children, a nice home to live in, and a job with economic security and a real future.

Now, the dream includes avoiding a premature death due to police incompetence, avoiding being a victim of abuse, finding someplace safe to live, and hoping some dumbass in Washington D.C. doesn’t fuck up and have to send your children to war (again).
I’m not a doomsdayer by any means.
If history has shown us anything, it is that this country can heal itself from the sins of our fathers.
The conduit for restoration is always the same.
The common denominator is the people.
But make no mistake; this country will never be the same again.
For better or worse.
Call it innocence lost, a cultural shift, or just go ahead and blame the bicameral system of American government.
