Normal pride is good, healthy even. It is only when it traverses the boundaries of decency into the realm of hubris and arrogance that it is counter-productive.
Cry all you want about the economy and the active and impending tariffs, but one good thing to come out of it (well, two actually). 1) people are buying less. 2) people are saving more.
Those two things allowed us to retire several years earlier than first planned.

If you’ve been following the bloody trail, you will find the president of Columbia University to be one of the latest victims after the school predictably decided to acquiesce to the current administration’s threat to withhold up to four-hundred million dollars if they didn’t change their DEI tune to one of the president’s liking.
They can name that tune in no notes.
Maine will be next.
They are the latest to attempt to play “the mouse that roared, ”and stand up to the president over his ban on transgender athletes in federally-funded schools.
I am pretty sure this won’t end well for Maine.

I was glad to see Starbucks is losing popularity (and value as a chain). They have been fucking people over for over a decade by overcharging them for a simple coffee bean drink. Not to mention the hypertension and diabetes they have provided from the sugary, fatty concoctions that only cost them a fraction of the cost to produce.
But people are the dumbasses who keep standing in line.
