I almost hate being right all of the time.
Almost.
Mighty Harvard, those wacky Crimson, cost themselves hundreds of millions of dollars in government grants by having the unmitigated gall to stand up for equality, free speech, the Constitution, and other silly passe concepts.
The message they have sent across the nation and the entire world is: education and free-thinking are commodities and can be bought and sold.
Like Fentanyl.
Sell-outs.
I am starting to get the feeling that our Chief Executive does not like Senior White House correspondent Kaitlan Collins from CNN.
Australia attempted to launch its first-ever rocket and it exploded.
Space-X probably has a spot on their staff for you.
Exploding rockets is their specialty.
I finally found an exception to allowing transgenders to compete in sporting events. But first you have to accept darts or draughts, to qualify as a sport in the first place.
It is a game of skill, accuracy and touch.
Strength, which is the major difference between our sexes, is not a factor.
But those wacky Brits want to exclude them.
It is currently what I call the black hole of sports.
Not a huge baseball fan anymore.
A month away from football.
So what is the definition of insanity?
Once again, I tune into a Manchester United game with the expectations set by legends, which I do every time the Red Devils take the field.
And this time, they delivered.
A 4-1 contest that could easily have been five or six goals as youth and manager Ruben Amorim’s system were on full display.
After last seasons’ worst-ever Premier League finish, United fans expect better and if yesterday’s friendly against Bournemouth was any indication, we will be producing more goals this year.
I was hoping to see some of the old guard leave, like Casemiro, and he played old and slow, as did statue Harry Maguire, who times his forty-yard dash with a sundial.
Off you go, Harry.
They still need to fine-tune their system and I am looking forward to seeing how our newly-acquired strikers Viktor Gyokeres and Mattheus Cunha fit in.
It was nice to see Hojlund tally a score, as he does work hard. He’s just a tad slow up the field. He is also a reminder of the gross mismanagement and overpayment desperation of last season’s brain trust.
So get ready for the season and, as they say, hope springs eternal.
Go you Reds!
In the meantime, attendance in the WNBA is predictably down due to Caitlin Clark being sidelined once again with injury. One of these days, the other women in the league might learn (more importantly, accept) the fact that Clark is not only the face, but the whole body of the league.
Football season is the best and I really miss dissecting the games and breaking down, in detail, what our Fighting Irish need to succeed with my Dad. He would call like clockwork every Saturday morning.
Now, my big brother and I are keeping the tradition alive.
Go Irish!
Stay well.
