Sixteen years old and his life is over…
Desmond Holly shot and wounded two students at his high school in Evergreen, Colorado before turning the gun on himself, ending his life and continuing the “tradition” of school shootings, the thirteenth going back to Columbine in 1999.
Money scandals in high school athletics were nonexistent (or non-reported) a few seasons ago, but with the advent of NIL money and unchecked booster dollars, well, why not prepare these young athletes for the “real world” of athletics?
Cheating.
Payola.
Gambling.
And a chance to gain admittance to the rarified air of professional sports.
I can sit here and write about how bad it is, how ruinous it is for amateur athletics, and yet, if I had possessed the skills and body to compete at the highest levels, I would have done so in a heartbeat. Without even thinking.
Go figure.
Gen Z, a group of people very much in the news these days, is considered the generation raised on the internet.
That explains a lot of things.
Just as the internet has been corrupted and weaponized, so have the impressionable minds of Gen Z. They are even being linked with the recent upheaval in Kathmandu, Nepal which resulted in nineteen deaths so far.
But it doesn’t stop there.
No, Gen Z are supposedly lying on their job applications and resumes. The rest of their time is spent wondering why nobody wants to employ their lying, cheating asses…
A huge yacht sailing off the coast of Greece is attracting dumbasses from all over the aforementioned internet and they are saying things like, “it’s a monstrosity” and remarking how bad it is for our planet, etc.
But every one of us would love to be able to have a yacht like that.
Admit it.
In jolly olde England, a billionaire has been cut off from bringing in water to “fill his private lake.”
With a billion dollars, do you think this guy actually gives a shit?
I wouldn’t lose any sleep over his plight.
And you don’t need to look any further than our own neutered justice system which handed down a fifty-four month sentence to that lying thief Nadine Menendez, wife of New Jersey senator Bob Menendez.
She accepted a plea in lieu of real justice: the original penalty mandated she spend upwards of seventeen years in prison, which is where a person of such a low moral character belongs.
And I don’t mean some country club federal “prison.”
All the billionaires and now, trillionaires and all their mansions, yachts, and vaults of untold wealth, will die just like you and I will.
Rudy Giuliani, the once most-loved symbol of our nations’ outrage and devastation from the 9/11 attack is now reduced to nothing but another New York punchline. How the mighty hath fallen…
An ex-Mars, Inc. executive got caught stealing to the tune of 28 million dollars and has been ordered to pay back the 28 million in restitution which he gladly agreed to. This tells me that he actually stole fifty million.
