It was nice to see Mauricio Pochettino given a new four-year contract to coach the United States Men’s national soccer (football) team.
It is my opinion that he was the coach who did the most with what he had to work with in spite of getting thoroughly ass-whipped by those wacky Belgians.
But you are not going to catch up hundreds of years in a sport we are still learning in this country.
In the Association, Lebron James is making his Last Run at a championship, signing on to play alongside Joel Embid with the Philadelphia 76’ers as both players have seen their best days behind them.
Good luck with that.
Especially with young Wemby and the Knicks itching for more.
The women of the W can’t seem to get out of their own way as they try to grow their burgeoning brand. The only reason I don’t think women’s sports will ever garner the intensity and following of men is because women are not hard-wired like men to be competitive or watch sports incessantly.
They have better things to do, or so the Domestic Despot tells me.
As far as baseball goes, the Dodgers Evil Empire (once the domain of the Bronx Bombers) continues to swallow up the world’s greatest players in their quest for total domination.
Welcome Tarik Skubal!
I will wait another couple weeks to allow for any last-minute transfers before I give my opinion on the Premier League season and my predictions.
I will really make an effort to hide my Manchester United enthusiasm for this season….
College football can’t return soon enough (imho) and I will give my thoughts on the upcoming season in my blog on August 28th.
I will really make an effort to hide my Notre Dame enthusiasm for this season….
And what is going on with Scotty Scheffler?
Last couple years he has seemed all but invincible on the PGA Tour and now he’s hitting the ball like me.
And I only have one leg and NO prosthetic!
I am in the process of updating my Playlist, but the old memory ain’t what it used to be, so it seems to be a never-ending labor of love, as I recall the songs and the stories from my past they engender.
Take a look:
The very first song that made it onto the list was also the very first song I wrote at age 10: Hiawatha. I think the very last song I added to it was Wonderwall by Oasis.
As you can see, I need to add some songs that aren’t ancient like me so feel free to shoot me a suggestion or two.
I have my monthly gig at a local Nursing Home and Rehabilitation Center on the 11th and a new facility on the 25th so I will be rehearsing and I’ll post a short clip of a practice run or two.
I have decided to try and learn how to play the blues on my PRS electric guitar and am starting with YouTube vids. A buddy of mine blows a mean harp, so that affords a few possibilities.
I figure I will be a badass by the time I am 75. (I’m 72 now).
I’ll keep you posted…
Stay well.
