Told You So/CFP Preview

The sister is the dangerous one.

Kim Jong Un sees right through Trump’s BS (and IBS).

North Korea just sent 10 short range missiles into the sea as yet another show of disdain for our Chief Executive and his policy involving South Korea. Her brother might be enamored with the president but make no mistake on her feelings for Americans in general and DJT in particular.

And they are not good.

I have to admit, I found it refreshing to see the New York Times held accountable for sloppy, unverified reporting that cost them 9.25 million dollars in a defamation lawsuit against a college football player.

Hey, didn’t you lose a defamation lawsuit fifty years ago?

This is starting to look like a pattern…

Speaking of crazy, damaged and deranged Executive Assistants, how about that wacky Natalie Harpy?

She’s giving dumb blondes a bad name.

Reading her love letters to her Lord and Master was kind of like watching Jessica Walter in her Oscar-nominated role for stalking Clint Eastwood in 1971’s Play Misty for Me.

Single-minded brainless people like that are dangerous.

There once was a time when people (me included) would never even think to write something disrespectful of the person elected to the Highest Office in the Land.
That was before.

Being raised as a military dependent, I was always taught to give respect to those that have attained the rank.

But I learned to give respect to those that have earned it.

Still waiting…

Is it me, or is there an inordinate amount of stories lately reporting where bears are eating campers, even pulling them from their tents to sup on their innards?

You know what they say about payback.

I was going to write out a college football preview blog this week as the college season approaches, but I will merely make a few observations due to the transfer portal and the NIL monies involved in procuring players to build championship teams (see Indiana Hoosiers).

I will start with one SHOCKING and sure to be controversial declaration: The Indiana Hoosiers will NOT make the 12-team college football playoff.

Now I am the first to give it up to them for what they accomplished last year. They were indeed the best team in the nation and they proved it all season long. But people are overlooking one thing as they continue to put Indiana at or near the top of the rankings.

Winning multiple championships requires there be a culture of winning.

You don’t establish culture in one remarkable season.

Now that the game is becoming an “Our GM is better than yours” competition, combined with a very weak schedule, there simply is no room for error this season for Indiana, so I am saying they will slip up at least once on their schedule, possibly even twice, costing them a chance to repeat as NCAA champions.

Ohio State is going to be their boring old selves, rolling everybody in their path but I predict they make the CFP with one conference loss (not Michigan).

Texas seems to assemble the most talent year after year, but they never seem to live up to their press clippings.

The Oklahoma Sooners used to eat me out of Chicken Fried Steaks and mashed potatoes and gravy when I was the GM of the Norman Cracker Barrel and I am predicting they win the Red River Rivalry this year against Texas.

In the SEC, I say Georgia will return to the top of the heap with Dabo Sweeney and Clemson making the CFP out of the ACC. If Alabama doesn’t make the CFP look for a coaching change in Tuscaloosa.

Same for Lincoln Riley at USC.

I have avoided speaking about my Fighting Irish of l’Universite de Notre Dame du lac” because I don’t want to jinx it.

Many are predicting a national championship this year, something that has eluded us since beating West Virginia at the culmination of the 1988 season.

I have heard it before.

The team motto this year is “Leave no Doubt” as they seek to prove themselves to be one of the nation’s elite teams.

I admit it.

I’m a ND homer, and it should come as no surprise whatsoever that I have drank the Kool-Aid (every last drop) so I am predicting the Irish will win it all.

I can’t wait…

Stay well.
