The Associated Press, that trusted paragon of journalistic excellence, says that the president has stated “Japan will invest 550 billion dollars in the U.S.” at his direction.
“Investing.”
That’s a nicer word than say “ransom.”
This money is being paid to reduce the recently-imposed tariffs placed on the Chinese, and now that they have made the mistake of flinching first, our fearless leader smells blood in the water and is calling this initial 550 billion dollars a “nice start.”
Some people never learn…
DJT’s North Korean boyfriend Kim Jong-un responded to the president’s recent post portraying the two world leaders as “friends.”
He talked of taking on the “anti-imperialists” and kicking our asses in an “anti-American world war.”
Some friends.
If it is true, as some believe, that everything is on a cycle, then I am waiting for it to comeback into the mainstream to prosecute, convict, and kill those who kill.
Instead of the bleeding heart, kindler, gentler, live and let live set of “laws” we have in place that are more a mockery of justice than a legitimate government branch.
I was OK with the failed coup, I was OK with the pervasive feeling of hatred and distrust that is now the societal norm, I’m OK with throwing out the Constitution and starting over, and I am OK with the president stealing everything that isn’t nailed down.
But that’s all over.
I can abide with a lot of things, obviously, but cheat on the golf course?
Later.
I saw a clickbait headline and I am vey proud of myself for NOT falling for it this time. Something about Ozzy Osbourne (R.I.P) and if he believed in God at the time of his death.
I don’t think the answer will be found in the physical sphere of existence.
That belief lies in the very soul.
It is not migratory.
Nor is it malleable or transferrable.
Total and irreversible.
At the risk of sounding like a romantic dumbass (again), it is like the all-or-nothing, struck by a lightning bolt, 10,000 volts racing through my body feeling I got when I saw Karen standing in the dappled Santa Barbara sunlight on the day of our wedding.
It looks like the visit to Greenland from old Pieface Vance did nothing to allow for us to steal the rare minerals we covet, so it looks like we will have to come up with a different plan before we “take over the country” which is always the Ultimate Solution.
I really think entertainers need to focus on music and NOT use their world-wide platform to exert influence over the political arena.
Imagine if Taylor Swift were to exhort her followers to vote for a particular policy or person.
Talk about influence.
The crazy thing is that she seems to be a good person at heart, so I probably wouldn’t care too much about it.
I’ve said it before that I don’t give a damn if it is a deaf, blind and dumb baboon (no offense to baboons), if they can get this country back to the basic democracy we once had, rock on.
Stay well.
